Free Dental Consultation
Our dentist will provide an initial free consultation. A free dental consultation typically involves a discussion with you to address your main concerns, answer questions you may have about your oral health, or to provide a second opinion from one of our professional dentists. The dentist will answer your questions and will provide you with different options that are suitable for your treatment plan.
Please note that though the free dental consultation is not chargeable, the dentist may recommend that a diagnostic image, such as a radiograph or X-Ray, needs to be taken, to help with the analysis and recommendations for your treatment plan. These diagnostic images are chargeable, and the dentist will notify you of this before proceeding to take the diagnostic image.
If you have any specific concerns about your teeth or want a second opinion from the dentist, but do not feel like you need a comprehensive exam, the dentist will do the clinical exam and address your questions or concerns, notifying you of any chargeable services before proceeding.
The Initial Appointment – A Comprehensive Exam
The initial appointment at our dental practice with our dentist in Surrey, BC will consist of a comprehensive examination, during which you will be asked to provide your complete dental history. If you are unaware of any aspects, we can request the information from your previous dentist with your approval. During this first appointment, you will be given a personalized treatment plan with different options that suit your needs. Our dentists will review this with you. Please assist us by providing the following information at the time of your consultation:
- Your referral slip and any X-rays if applicable
- A list of medications you are presently taking.
- If you have medical or dental insurance, please bring the necessary completed forms.
This will save time and allow us to help you process any claims.
During your comprehensive exam, please alert the office if:
- you have a medical condition that may be of concern prior to surgery (i.e. diabetes, high blood pressure, artificial heart valves and joints, rheumatic fever, etc.)
- if you are on any medication (i.e. heart medications, aspirin, anticoagulant therapy, etc.) or
- if you require medication prior to dental cleanings (i.e. antibiotics, for pre-med.)
Dental X-Rays
Dental X-rays or radiographs are standard tools used in both general and specialized procedures by every good dentist in Surrey, BC. The X-rays consist of images of your teeth from various angles, which your dentist uses to evaluate your oral health. These X-rays are taken using low levels of radiation to capture images of the interior of your mouth and gums, which can help your dentist to identify problems, like cavities, tooth decay, and impacted teeth.
If your previous family dentist in Surrey, BC has taken recent x-rays (within the past 6 months), you may request that they forward them to our office. If there is not enough time between scheduling your appointment and attending, please pick them up and bring them with you to our office. If additional films are necessary, they can be taken at our facility.
